Developmental Editing
Developmental editing (also called substantive editing) often occurs on the first draft of a manuscript (or manuscript in progress). These edits entail addressing plot holes, aiding in flow and readability, and aligning the writer’s mission with the actual text of the manuscript.
Revisions Editing
Revisions editing occurs on the second or third draft of a manuscript. This editing entails closer attention to minor plot details, some line editing to improve style, and refine the themes, characters, etc. This is the final stage (or close to the final stage) of content editing before copy editing and proofreading.
Editorial Letter
The editorial letter is a broad scope assessment of a manuscript’s current state. Editorial letters cover glaring plot issues, overall impressions of the mood, tone, and style, and provides pieces of feedback that will improve the manuscript in broad terms.
Testimonials
"Working with Jordan was an amazing experience for both myself and my book. Not only is her work thorough, but she does a fantastic job explaining her changes while leaving the final decision up to the author. Jordan was easy to reach if I had any questions and was honest about what would help the manuscript reach its full potential. I never felt like my author voice was changed, but rather enhanced. I would recommend her to anyone working on their passion project!"
